Colombia (UCJD)
1) 2 weeks preliminary investigation in November with 2 participants from VU
- Departure from Denmark on saturday the 30th of October towards Bogota. On the way there a stopover in USA will be made until the 3rd or 4th of November, after which the trip continues to the EC Meeting of Liberal International in Costa Rica. After the LI EC meeting the trip then continues to Colombia for a week of meetings and initial exploration.
The purpose of the stopover in USA is to follow the US presidential election. By studying this it is the hope that it will serve as inspiration for future campaign seminars in Colombia.
Landing in Costa Rica serves 2 purposes. First one is to try to meet up with the participants at the Friedrich Naumann Stiftung seminar for Young Liberals from Latin America, including representatives from UJCD. Second purpose is to attend the LI Executive Committee meeting and to develop new networks with liberals in Latin america and strengthen excisting networks.
2) Application for a 2 year project, with 4 seminars and exchange of Youth leaders from both organisations
Goal: to help UCJD bringing their organisation to cover all of Colombia, and to run seminars on campaign techniques and tools and in this way assist them in their fight for democracy and human rights.
- 1. seminar in Colombia (in february/march 2005) Seminar on how to build an organisational structure
- Exchange of youth leader - A person from UCJD will come to Denmark to study the way that VU works on a first hand basis. Attending VU's seminars, campaigns and political meetings, as well as following how the VU secretariat work..This exchange will take place from end of march 2005 untill just after the VU congress in the beginning of july 2005.
- Exchange of a Youth leader from VU to Colombia. The youth leader will assist UCJD in the development of the organisation, as well as preparing the next seminar in Colombia. This youth leader will be in Colombia during the fall of 2005.
- 2. seminar in Colombia (October 2005, maybe a bit later) Part two of the seminar on organisational structure/building an organisational structure. This seminar should build partly on the practical experiences that UCJD have made after the first seminar in february/march.
- 3. seminar in Colombia Organisational & Campaign seminar for the new established local branches in Colombia. Sometime during 2006
- 4. seminar in Colombia - Seminar on democracy and human rights for the whole organization. Sometime during 2006.
