ROUND TABLE’S PROJECT U.N.O. BRAZIL – U.C.J.D. COLOMBIA

INTRODUCTION

The Colombian Union of Young Democrats – “Unión Colombiana de Jóvenes Demócratas” (C.U.Y.D. – U.C.J.D.), it’s a Youthful Political Organization, which is developing since the last 10 years political processes, empowering and training of leader youngsters in Colombia, with the purpose of making strong the democracy in our country, ending up the corrupted practices inside the public administration, through making aware to the people about the transparency that ought to be present in all the acts, showing our personal knowledge and experiences we have had in the local circuit and finally, using political instruments to defend the principles of the liberal socialism that we profess, based on the consensus as a tool for taking decisions.

Our work implicates the public participation through the massive communication sources, realization and participation in events such as seminars, workshops and debates. Discussing subjects and issues with relevance for our country and Latin-America itself; thereby we have created and strengthed strategic alliances with other Youthful Organizations all over the world.

With foundation in the previous arguments, it’s our interest to realize a round table with United Nations in the neighbor country of Brazil, where we can board a general subject which concerns both Organizations: the importance of protecting environment and water sources in the context of Global Warming.

We also pretend to show practical local experiences related with the main subject on the round table, which eventually can be applied and executed in another country (fitting it into the context of each country); with the purpose of making a political, academic and cultural interchange that benefits both Organizations.
